Intervention will be offering FREE live synchronous professional development through the RAPID Initiative (Reading Acceleration Professional Integrated Development). We will be serving districts in Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Counties.

Four hours of professional development for educators will be delivered in November and December with multiple offerings available. Through a 7-part series, participants will explore how emergent literacy develops, identify necessary components of literacy instruction, and learn evidence-based instructional practices. Topics include:
Part 1: Orthography and Concepts of Print
Part 2: Phonological Awareness
Part 3: Phonemic Awareness
Part 4: Phonics
Part 5: Fluency
Part 6: Vocabulary
Part 7: Comprehension
A three hour live-webinar will also be available to district and school leaders aiming to improve literacy outcomes. Topics will include: Introduction to Foundational Literacy; Creating a Culture that Supports Effective Literacy Instruction; Choosing High-Quality Instructional Materials and Assessment; Professional Learning; Monitoring Appropriate Instructional Responses
